Alcohol Awareness Week 2022
20th to 26th June is NI Alcohol Awareness Week – an opportunity for those who drink alcohol to take a closer look at their drinking habits.
An easy way to do this is to download the “Know your Units” app which can help you track the units of alcohol you drink and is available to download for both Apple and Android. The app has two tools, the Unit Guide and the Virtual Bar.
The Unit Guide will help you work out how many units and calories are in your drinks and how long it would take to ‘run off’.
The Virtual Bar works out if your usual round of drinks in a night is putting your health at risk. It will give you a result and provide you with the necessary advice should you require it. |
Over three-quarters of adults in Northern Ireland drink alcohol, but consuming too much can seriously affect our health. It is important that we can understand our drinking behaviour and explore our relationship with alcohol. Small changes can make a big difference.
