ShedFest event for International Men’s Day 2025
Belfast Trust Health Improvement Team worked with partners from Belfast Men’s Health Group to run the successful ShedFest event for International Men’s Day on Wednesday 19th November. Held at 2 Royal Avenue in Belfast City Centre, the event aimed to bring together local men to learn about the fantastic work of Men’s Sheds and other men’s groups operating across the city.
Attendees benefited from information, advice and freebies from over 20 organisations present including, Belfast Trust’s Carers Support Service, Falls Prevention Team and Lifeline Service. There were live demonstrations including woodwork and first aid, one-to-one health checks and acupuncture sessions. Colin Men’s Shed Ukulele Band provided entertainment and a caricature artist was on hand to capture pictures of those who attended. The event was opened by Lord Mayor Tracy Kelly who highlighted how Men’s Sheds are playing an important role in promoting social connections and healthy lifestyles for men in communities across the city.
