Throughout the month of February and March 2023, Occupational Health and Human Resources plan to provide training & information sessions for managers who would like to learn more about supporting staff members facing mental health issues, such as stress, depression and anxiety.
The sessions will cover topics such as:
- The role of Occupational Health and Human Resources in supporting staff mental health, including when and how to make an Occupational Health referral or seek HR guidance.
- What to expect from an Occupational Health report, such as advice regarding reasonable adjustments for staff members
- Information about helpful supports and services
- Guidance on approaching the subject of mental health with staff in a confident and safe way.
- Addressing staff absence/risk of staff absence due to mental health in a safe and supportive way.
The sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams. Managers and supervisors will be contacted with dates and times of sessions after signing up.
