BHSCT STAFF can now avail of a combination of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products including Patches, Inhalators, Gum, Lozenges and/or Quickmist when they enrol with the Stop Smoking Service
This new menu of NRT options was added into the Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) to staff by Stop Smoking Specialists – Supply of.pdf in April 2022.
You may have heard the term “There is no size that fits all”. This can also be said about the ‘stopping smoking journey’.
Staff now have the opportunity to choose the NRT products that best suits them. These NRT products will be provided FREE to Trust staff.
Criteria
- The BHSCT staff member must have enrolled in the stop smoking service and be motivated to stop smoking.
- An initial assessment is completed in the first session to be sure the staff member is safe to use NRT.
- When the staff member sets a ‘quit date’ the specialist and the staff member can decide which NRT combination would be most effective for them.
- The staff member will sign the NRT form.
Weekly review sessions can occur via telephone or in person and can take place during the staff member’s working day. These can be as short as 15 minutes per week and managers are encouraged to allow staff the time to attend the sessions.
