There are lots of free events and activities in Belfast that can help you get together with friends and family to improve your mental health and emotional wellbeing.  Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing is an easy guide to 5 types of activities that we can all do to improve our mental health:

If you’re looking for inspiration there are lots of opportunities to Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing by participating in the Belfast 2024 programme of events.  Belfast Trust is a supporting partner of this ambitious cultural celebration for our city and are keen to promote the many events that will provide an opportunity to Connect with others, Learn something new, Be Active, Take Notice of your surroundings and Give you and your family a fun, free day out!

Here are some of the free Belfast 2024 events taking place during the coming weeks:

The Wiggle Room by Boom Clap Play

  • Date: Thursday 19 September – Friday 29 November
  • Location: The MAC, 10 Exchange St West, BT1 2NJ

 

The Wiggle Room is not just for Belfast’s children but by them! It’s an exploration of kinetic energy, interactive technology, and, most importantly, the unbridled joy of childhood.  From small hand gestures to a giant leap, every motion will spark visual and auditory reactions in real-time. The Wee Swap

  • Date: Sunday 13th October
  • Location: Banana Block, Port View Trade Centre, 310 Newtownards Rd, BT4 1HE

A chance for young families to donate gently-used clothes and toys their children have outgrown and swap them for some new-to-you treasures. This is a fantastic opportunity to refresh your kids’ wardrobes and toy chests while promoting the values of reusing and recycling within our community. Sound Links by Ulster Orchestra and Zeppo Arts

  • Date: Saturday 31st September 2pm – 8pm
  • Location: Townsend Street, BT13 2ES

 

The Ulster Orchestra, Zeppo Arts and Townsend Street Enterprise Park are thrilled to announce an exciting community street party set to take place on Townsend Street just north of the city centre.  This vibrant outdoor event promises an unforgettable day filled with live music, bustling markets, energetic dance performances and delicious food offerings – something for everyone to enjoy. Our block party is part of the Belfast 2024 programme, celebrating creativity and culture, funded by Belfast City Council. Taking place on International Peace Day.  The event is open to all.
