Child Safety Week 2026
Child Safety Week runs from Monday, June 1st to Sunday, June 7th. Organised by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) and supported by our Health Improvement Team, this year’s theme is “Making Prevention Possible,” focusing on empowering families with simple, practical changes to prevent accidents without feeling overwhelmed.
Key Focus Areas & Resources:
- Home Safety: Addressing everyday risks such as poisoning from button batteries, burns in the kitchen, choking hazards, and appliance safety.
- Road Safety: Partnering with initiatives like “Backseat Boss” to equip primary school children with road safety knowledge.
- Free Resources: CAPT provides free downloadable toolkits, parents’ packs, and display materials suitable for schools, nurseries, and health visitors.
- Community Engagement: The campaign serves as a catalyst for local events, such as lunch-and-learns for professionals and safety advice campaigns UK-wide.
